Greetings from the red rocks of Sedona, Arizona,
As I write this we are in one of the most beautiful parts of the country. A drive in any direction results in postcard type landscapes of red and orange. Long deep valleys and stunning buttes spread out before you at every turn. It's a natural wonderland in the still wide open state of Arizona.
But we were in California when I last wrote you so let's return there first and record the events of the last month. We had rolled into San Diego after some triple digit heat in Las Vegas. The average rainfall for San Diego in August is 0.03 inches!
My history there goes back to the late 1960's when I was stationed there for over two years in the U.S. Navy. We tried a new spot first. New to us that is since Old Town San Diego was the original center of the city. Now it's an attractive blend of historic preserved buildings and shops full of beautiful arts and crafts. From the historic there was the original post office, jail and general store. There was also a preserved wealthy family's hacienda with full
