TIME FOR A RECAP!
What a year it has been! Last January had us facing high diesel prices but relatively calm economic conditions. We had a great trip to Colorado, Arizona, and California. Despite a minor mine cave-in, we emerged from the summer unscathed, ready to spend quality time with friends and family in Maryland. But the winds of change were blowing our way, just as they were wafting over the political situation. Feeling restless and a little unsatisfied with our constant travel, I approached Paul about settling down. He was a bit reluctant but I assured him that we could still take nice long vacations and that we would still spend our winters in Florida.
And with that, house hunting began in earnest! After a few false starts we found our "little" Cape Cod. I had originally wanted a Craftsman-style home but all the ones we inspected were located very close to each other and did not have room for our trailer. Alas! We ran into problems a few days before settlement. Ownership of our new home had not been transferred properly upon foreclosure so the title was not clear. The foreclosure process had to be re-initiated to be completed several months hence. So, off to Florida we went, hoping to get a call from our agent sometime in March or April. If all goes well, we'll still be able to settle in the spring.
Florida is lovely this time of year. Most of the other neighbors in our resort have not arrived yet so things are somewhat quiet here. My sister, Karen and her husband Ron, had a very tasty Christmas Eve dinner and my Mom and Dad hosted dinner on Christmas Day. We hope that you all had a wonderful Christmas and will enjoy a healthy and prosperous New Year.
As a recap, I decided to post a few of our photos of this year's travels.
